Course Overview:

Aimed at school leavers (16-19) and adult learners (19+). Film is a very empowering medium, and the process of making a film is rich and varied with many roles both in front and behind the camera. These roles help develop personal growth as well as team building. Filmmaking can be an experience that allows groups and individuals to find a voice and an outlet to facilitate their creative expressions and explore frustrations.

Each participant writes, directs, and edits a series of short films and work in principle crew positions. Students will learn how to write a script and develop storyboards, which will then be acted and filmed by the group members, all with the support of a professional filmmaker and writer. The final outcome will be in the form of a short film, a music video or a documentary.

You do not require previous experience, however filmmaking demands passion, commitment and drive. This course will challenge students to develop their creative skill to their fullest potential.

Each student will have access to an Intel Apple iMac workstation running Final Cut Pro, a digital video camera and will receive plenty of individual attention from your tutor. You will be consistently accessed throughout the duration of the course to make sure you are getting the most from the course and that we are meeting your needs.
